WTC Christmas 2023

      It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  The icy weather is upon us so please be very careful and only play when the conditions are ok.  Please read below for a few updates and upcoming events.  Pat Parish Adult Charity Tournament! Huge well done to all that took part in the annual Pat Parish Charity Tournament!  Congratulations to Jon and Amelia for winning the rounds and then the final against Rebecca and Cody.   The tournament raised £280! Amelia has chosen The Hopefield Animal Sanctuary and Jon would like to support The National Autistic Society. Thank you very much to Vic for organising it all. We look forward to seeing you back in the tournament next time :)  Christmas Team Training One for the adult doubles squads who play in the fixtures.  Some Fast 4 Tennis followed by a few festive drinkies!  Christmas Sunday Social! Sunday 17th December  All Club Christmas Jumper and Hats Social 10am - 12noon.   Mulled Wine/Mince Pies and drinks will be provided. All welcome,

WTC Finals Weekend - Our Champions

     WTC Tournament Finals Weekend! - Our Champions!   Last weekend, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September, we held our tournament finals weekend. It was a great success although it was a very hot weekend! Please read below for the results.  Saturday Red Ball First up on court was Mia Solyanyk vs Sasha Archipova. Congratulations to Mia! It was a first to 10 points. The score ended up being 17-15 to Mia.   Orange Ball  Lucas Walsh vs Mia Solyanyk. Congratulations to Mia again! This time it was a best of 3 sets, first to 10 points. Mia won 10-7, 4-10, 10-8. Great  battles on both junior matches! Sunday  Men's  over 45's Singles First up on court was Paul Diamond vs Nick Hoffman. A rematch from last year's final! However the very hot conditions were extremely difficult to play in and Paul conceded the match after playing one set. Nick Hoffman won the first set 6 - 4 and then the match.   Welcome to the Writtle Tennis Club E-newsletter for March 2023! Social Tennis Even though the weather is still proving to be as unpredictable as ever the sun is starting to show its face and spring is in the air (kind of!). Here is a reminder of our social tennis schedule:   Wednesday: 8pm - 10pm   Friday day time: 4pm - 6pm     Sunday: 10am - 12pm     Every first Sunday of the month is a 'Family Social'! Everyone is welcome, Adults and Juniors! Make sure you put it in your diaries. Christmas at WTC!

     Ho Ho Ho.....Can you believe it is that time of the year already! Christmas is definitely coming and here are some of the activities planned for Christmas at Writtle Tennis Club!  Pat Parish Adult Charity Tournament! Sunday 4th December  9am - 12pm (lunch from 12pm) A friendly tournament in aid of The British Red Cross - Ukraine Appeal. Refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided. We ask for a minimum £10 donation entry to go towards a very good cause. There will be a maximum of 20 players.  Spectators and hecklers welcome! Writtle Tennis Club Tournament Finals Weekend!

    WTC Tournament Finals Weekend!  Last weekend, Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September, we held our tournament finals weekend. It was a huge success! Please read below for the results.  Saturday Men's  over 45's Singles First up on court at 1pm was Paul Diamond vs Nick Hoffman. It was a long 3 set match in hot sunny conditions. Congratulation to Paul who won 6-2 5-7 6-0! Ladies Singles At 1.30pm Panna Zsurzsa and Jo McConnell battled another 3 setter! Panna clinched the title winning 6-2 3-6 6-3  Junior Under 14's   At 3.30pm Mayr Brown and Mihalis Kontigeorgis fought for the crown on the bottom courts. Mayr's passion for the sport shone through and he won 4-2 4-0  Men's Singles   A battle of the big hitters! Josh Foster vs Cody Lambert was always going to be good match. Josh took the title 6-4 6-4  Sunday Ladies Doubles   Kicking the Sunday off, Jo McConnell & Hilary Morgan took on Kiyomi Seed & Panna Zsurzsa at 1pm. Another tight 3 set final! Kiyomi and

  Welcome to the Writtle Tennis Club E-newsletter August 2022!  WTC Tournament!  Our club tournament is in full swing and going very well.
